lazy

It is a lazy friday night…the end of a very busy week at work. So much is going on and I am busy as heck. I was happy to find out that a grant I am writing with some folks from the local community college is actually going to be submitted next october instead of this october. that was a relief because i need some more time to brush up on my precision farming research :-) The grant is going to be cool and I think it has a good chance of getting funding. We are writing to ask for money to do student and workforce training in GIS. It is a growing area and out here, in the sticks, there aren’t many (if any) places one can go to learn how to use GIS without getting a college degree. A gap that needs to be filled, hopefully we’ll get to fill it!

I’ve lost about 12lbs since July. I’m pretty excited about it too. I could lose faster if I would be more strict about what I eat…but the fact that I am running at least 3 miles 5 days a week and taking a weight training class has really helped. Not only have I lost weight, but my body shaped as changed and changed noticeably. It is pretty darn cool and I’m actually enjoying it.

Tomorrow Steph and I are heading to QC to do some shopping. I would like to try to find a tie for Drew that matches the dress I am wearing in Shelli’s wedding. Also need to get some general stuff and do some shopping for Mee-ma.

Mom has closed on her house, the movers picked her stuff up yesterday and she is planning on driving out on Sunday. And thus the adventure begins. This is uncharted territory, I don’t have a map and I think that may be a problem. boundaries, rules, taking care of me, understanding that i don’t have to take care of her.

wednesday I sent out the application to Penn State, now it is time to play the waiting game. We are still not sure what is going to happen or what decision will be made, there are many, many things to take into consideration. It will be what it was meant to be…

looking forward to going to florida in a few weeks. looks like it will be in the 8os…off to the beach baby! it will be nice to have a few days to relax, hang with the fam and hold drew’s hand…

off to bed…can’t wait to shop tomorrow!!

Aunt Marcy AGAIN!

How could I have forgotten to post the great news? Stephanie and Eric will be having their first child in March. We are all very excited. Steph is getting along and doing just fine thus far. I’m really hoping for a boy, having a nephew would be fantastic but if it is a girl I will certainly love her so much!!

Congrats Steph and Eric!

happy valley

hmmm….i wonder about posting this information, but why not and who the heck cares!

I am going to apply for the head of the map library position that recently was posted at Penn State. A few months ago I was struggling with the Tennessee job. There is no struggle here. This is familiar territory, I love Central PA, Drew would have a ton more opportunities there than here, it is a map library job, a faculty position etc. etc. There are to many positives to count and very few, if any, negatives :-) I’m excited, but again at this point only applying we will see what happens from there!!

Life is pretty much back to normal after being away for three weeks. Drew was home for the weekend and we had a fantastic time, now I’m left with the tornado mess that was left because we were so busy all weekend. I’ll see him again in a few weeks when we head to Florida for my sister’s wedding. Then after that just a few more weeks until he is home!! YIPPEE!!

Work is back to being crazy now that the semester is in full swing, I am currently working on my retention portfolio which in a few months will become my promotion portfolio, yehaw, but, has it really been that long already?!
